Review Time
Ordered cycle chain and chain gauge online, collected chain immediately but had to wait a week for the gauge. A week later checking my order on line it stated gauge had already been collected 2days before it was due in stock!!!!! Contacted customer service twice who had no detailed information and they attempted to contact the store directly without success. Went to the store (20mile round trip), but staff couldn't locate my item and so reordered it......another weeks wait!Checked on line making sure item was available for collection and it was. Another 20mile round trip, But staff couldn't find it, Manager tried to find it in their "system" no success, tried to get phone number for the supplier, no success. Absolutely useless at every point. Halfords need to sort out their customer service centre and their IT system.I cancelled my and will not be buying anything on line again. I will need to want something desperately urgent to even consider going into a Halforde store to purchase an off the shelf item.I every customer has a similar experience to mine I'm surprised Halfords is still in business!!
Purchased an item online for collection in store, it said the item was in stock but then received a phone call saying it was out of stock and i could cancel the order, which i did. I was also told that another branch a bit further away did have the item in stock, so i reordered from that branch, but then that order was cancelled by that branch with no explanation. Now i have a battle on my hands to get a refund. They have only refunded for one item and not the other. Going around in circles with the so called experts on the live chat. Talk about incompetence. Never again halfords. Ordered off amazon instead, delivered next day..
Disgusted. I bought a brand new CARRERA bike for my 13 year old son. I paid extra for HALFORDS to build it, and a few weeks later the handle bars and gear shifter fell off and handle bars came off mid ride to school on the road, my son could have died. I called customer care and just rubbish. I will never shop here again. No help, the bike and accessories cost ?400.00I don’t expect to get any help at all. I will be demanding a full refund. I will go to an actual bike shop, that isn’t run by teenagers. This could have gone so badly for my son.
Halfords own brand, especially Advanced has proven to be great quality and one j can trust. My only gripe is the price. It's creeping up now to a point where it's better value to buy the top branded items. Your car care range is great but branded is better especially for the prices.
I have called in at Halfords, Stanley Green Retail Park, Handforth a couple of times recently. The staff there are unfailingly helpful and friendly and by checking the tyres thoroughly, they have reassured me that all was well with the car tyres (a warning light had come on).I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I bought a Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB car stereo from Halfords on 26 May, but the store said they could not install it for at least 2 weeks because they didn't have the steering wheel control interface module, and recommended that I go to Dynamic Sounds to have it installed - which I did on 29 May. The unit turned out to be faulty (checked by DS on 16 July). On 29 July Halfords said that if DS said it was faulty they believed them. On 21 August I bought an identical stereo from DS and they fitted it on 29 August. That day I took the faulty unit back to Halfords. The manager refunded the cost "as a gesture of good will", although I said I wasn't getting much of a good will feeling, given that I had now paid twice ?150 for the installation. I went back to Halfords today because the funds have still not been refunded to my credit card. The manager who was there today (and was on 29 July) told me that it will take a minimum of 7 working days for me to receive the refund - nothing to do with Halfords; it's standard for the banking industry. Total nonsense. Funny they take payments the same day, but don't issue refunds for 7 days.
Awful. Paid ?350 online and booked MOT/Service. Had at least 6 calls/texts to say please bring car at 0830. Turn up at Ipswich 0830 to be told it couldn't happen today and would have to return car at another date. They couldn't ring me as they didn't have my number. My response "but you called and texted me". That's not us that's the central system??? The booking agent then made me feel like an idiot, and that it was all my fault. I cancelled on the spot to be told my money will be returned in two weeks. Honestly, what??? I will never spend another penny with these clowns.
My son had damaged his scooter, the team at Halfords New Malden - 0543 were excellent, as he was quite upset, I then had a look at a upgrade, and as their was a 20% offer I purchased him a replacement, although the guys had managed to repair his scooter, Stupidly I didn't notice it was a MIni, as he was picking a colour... when I got home I realised, I returned it the next day on the Monday 15th and the staff again allowed me to swop it, again I bought an upgrade, but the service and helpful nature of the staff, made the experience a pleasure although I didn't set out to buy a new scooter, the range and the helpful nature made it a good experience. Thanking I think Michael ( Sunday ) and Felix and Tegan on Monday. The only down side was the AI on the website, until I got to interact with a person.. Andy SW19
I went to Halford autocentre Finchley London to ask specifically for my slave cylinder to be changed. After keeping my car for more than a week they asked for ?865. which I paid. The second day I found Istill could not get any gear and asked for full refund. They first gave me a fake invouce showing they changed both the slave cylinder and master cylinder. They then said they would only give me half refund because they changed the master cylinder. I said both AA and RAC advised slave cylinder was the problem and that was what I asked for. They said the clutch also needed changing and I would need to pay ?300 more for that. I decided to go elsewhere but they wont give full refund.I went to Perivale where the mechanic agreed with the RAC and AA that nothing was wrong with the clutch and that the slave cylinder was the problem. He changed it and gave me the defective slave cylinder as evidence. I still wamt my full refund back and need to collect ?465 from Halfords. I also want my loss of earnings paid for the three weeks the whole ordeal and deception lasted in which I turned away client after client and in which the car broke down while in use by clients who never came back again because of loss of trust.
Ordered a car seat online. Website and email confirmed 'delivery within one day' so should have recieved it yesterday. Had text 08:37 yesterday morning, 'your delivery is being processed', tracking said 'your delivery is being prepared' Nothing arrived by 6pm so called them, no idea where the delivery was, courier obviously hadn't collected so no information available. But there was plenty of them in stock at my local store if I wanted to go and buy another one, then get a refund on the delivery, really good advice, when I have the child who needs the car seat with me!!! This morning I used the online chat to see where it was now , again no idea, told it would be with me by 1st September, which is absolutely no use to me because I need it now!Agent by name of Kashish, very unhelpful, happy to pass my complaint to another team who would respond within 7 days!Kashish cut the chat when I said it was false trading information! 'DELIVERY WITHIN ONE WORKING DAY' means ONE WORKING DAY, it does not mean come and get it yourself, or wait 4 days for it. However you wanna defend it Halfords, its your company making these statements, not the consumer, and you need to step up and do what you are saying youre going to do!
