Unreliable Service and Poor Customer SupportI placed an order with Halfords using the click & collect service, but when I went to collect it, I was given the wrong (and much cheaper) item instead of what I had actually paid for. When I raised this issue in-store, I was told the correct product was not in stock. I then contacted customer care, only to be told they also had no solution to the problem.This is completely unacceptable — I paid for a specific product, and instead was handed something different, with no effort made to resolve the mistake. The whole experience has been frustrating, unprofessional, and has left me feeling misled.Based on this experience, I would not recommend Halfords to anyone looking for reliable service or customer care.
I enquired via phone call to Halfords Auto Centre in Altrincham Cheshire about a timing belt on my VW Transporter short wheel base to be told they don't have the tools to be able to do the job they would only be able to do VW Caddy's!! I was directed by another Halfords auto centre as they have the larger ramps.What shocked me when he said they don't have the tools, Laughable!!
Product advertised as 20% off. Contacted customer services to get the discount, as it wasn't applied automatically. TERRIBLE attitude from customer service who said that the discount didn't apply, then backtracked and said it did apply, then said they would honour it in store, then said they wouldn't, then said the price was correct, then back tracked on that. Passed from pillar to post and then fobbed off. Absolutely terrible customer service.
Car in for MOT and windscreen washer.Needed the washers checked before the MOT this was done and MOT passed in early August. Arranged for windscreen washers to be checked again 29/08 and the technician stripped it down and cleaned the gung from the filter. AAAAA for the service and found the whole team accomodatiing. Would recommend them
Called in the Haverfordwest store to purchase a wiper blade and was served by a young man called Ollie who we later learnt was new to the store. He was very courteous and helpful, really pleasant to deal with, and he found and fitted the wiper blade for us, making the purchase a very easy and hassle free experience. Hope he goes far!
Added the vehicle make, year, model, fuel, and engine size. Then looked for wiper blades to fit. Failure, said the car registration wasn't valid. Did not meet the promise of finding the item after supplying the requested information. By doing further online research, they do have them in stock.
I have been trying to get VAT invoices for my recent orders and it has been a very frustrating experience.The "Chat with Expert" option on Halfords' website does not work – I could not get through to anyone.When I called customer service, the person I spoke to was not helpful at all. Even though I clearly asked for VAT invoices, she just pretended to "look for something" and never even asked me for any order details. I was told the invoices would be sent, but nothing has happened since then.This is unacceptable customer service. I will avoid Halfords in the future and will not buy from them again.
Paid Halfords ?381 for a BlackVue DR590X dash cam fitted (front and rear). Guy turned up fit it and said that’s all done for you. I tried to connect dash cam to my phone, only works when it wants, but did tell me that I had no rear camera installed. When I checked this it wasn’t plugged in properly and it was also upside down when I got to view it on my phone. Still won’t stay connected,if the service had included setting up on my phone, the engineer would have seen that it was upside down and not connected properly. Now I’ve rang Halfords and they are now sending someone else out tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they know what to do. Unfortunately, someone else came out and said that it wasn’t fitted properly and when he spoke to his supervisor they said I needed a SIM card for this dash cam to work properly. So when I showed him the information from the website he said that’s for a different camera. We have now decided that someone else will come out and remove it and get a refund. After waiting a week for my refund, I’ve had to ring them and ask for my money. They now tell me that I will after wait another 3/5 days because nobody had processed the refund when dash cam was removed. I will NEVER USE HALFORDS AGAIN what a shower.
On 23rd August our car went through an MOT check in the test centre. Halford failed the car with the major defect ‘Service brake effort inadequate at a wheel Rear [1.2.1(a)(i)].’ They tried to pursuade us to book a diagnostic check right there, which would have cost us ?50, along with future repair cost. We became sceptic and didn’t book it, instead we booked an appointment with another garage. They examined the car and reported back to us that there was no reason why we should’ve failed the MOT...So, we booked another MOT in a reputed garage and today, we passed the MOT.On top of that, the staff were really rude.If possible, please avoid this Halford Beckenham Centre.
Booked my car in to have a dash cam fitted in Cwmbran Halfords at mid day and they told us it would take 2 hours. Had a phone call to say that that the were technically unable to do it so it would need a qualified auto electrician, I’m not sure what they are playing at as I thought that they were supposed to be qualified. Anyway wasted half a day dropping the car off and collecting it again for no reason. The next day I got an email to say that while they had the car the checked bulbs , wiper blades ,windscreen, battery,tyres , oil, screen wash ,adblue and coolant. All of which were not requested. Total muppets and their staff are not fit for purpose. Then had to wait 4 days for a refund. Avoid Halfords Cwmbran at all costs.
