I went into Halfords Trowbridge for help and advice with my car.I feel very lucky to have been served by a young man in the store called JAMESON.This young man is exceptional . His attitude, knowledge and helpfulness while I was in the store was the best I’ve ever had. Superb young man.
I rode to the store with my Son who has autism. All I wanted was for the front breaks to be adjusted. I had purchased the bike a couple of years ago and it has been hardly used. The time was around 1.45 and he said he had a slot to look at it at 1500. He said I would need a free service to check for faults. I said I only wanted the break looked at. He said that's OK you only have to have the work completed I choose.I had s call from a lady at 14.30 saying the survey was complete and the items needing attention would be ?60. This includes a bronze break and gear service and 2 buckled wheels. I asked if the brake could be adjusted now as it was dangerous. I was advised it would have to be booked in. I was advised to come back into the store. To discuss. I was not far away having a coffee. I went to the store. Not even1500 yet when my appointment was for. I was met by another person in the bike department who said there was no way they could look at the break now even thought my slot was at 1500. They wanted to book my bike in and keep it until the appointment as it was dangerous. My son was not happy as he now thought his bike was unsafe. I had been trapped again by halfords. Now upset my son. I walked out without my break being done and i asvised i would go to a proper bike shop.
Paying for the bike maintenance plan is a waste of money and time. The only real benefit is to get a puncture repair, but this is the one thing that can be done by most people at home, so unless you live next door to a store, would you really bother taking your bike there. You still get charged for wheel changes etc and the discounts only apply to accessories, which is general can be found cheaper else where. To me it seems as though they push they idea as a form of guarantee they can keep you on the road at minimal inconvenience, but in truth, it is purely to try and make you reliable on going back to Halfords for repairs etc, when it will probably be more inconvenient and costly. Please be aware before agreeing to this extra cost.

So it was time for new headlights (seeing how the latest ones fitted only lasted 4 months and an Amazon refund will be requested).I visited Halfords in Bury St Edmunds and was served and advised by the friendly and customer focused team-member named Thomas. My purchase of 150% Halfords brand headlights fitted my Volvo halogen units with a reassuring snug fit, cables connected and all seemed well.I'm pleased to say that the headlights are working well and light up the dark well enough for confident night vision, even compared to the 200% Philips bulbs that let me down one after the other.Thanks Thomas, really good service and a great recommendation 👍.
I had fantastic service from Ryan (Halfords, Windmill Road, Croydon). He was patient, answered all of my questions and fitted some wheel trims to my car in double-quick time. I hope that Halfords management gets to see this review and rewards him with a bonus - I would go so far as to suggest that he gets a promotion - he is definitely the kind of person who should be in a lead/supervisory position with the customer service skills that he has. Ordered some car tyres for mobile fitting. There was an issue with locking wheel nuts so I had to re-arrange the booking for another date. The Halfords person I spoke to couldn’t have been more helpful and it was re arranged easily. Both mobile tyre fitters who came out were on time and really helpful. Excellent end to end service.
The company took payment online from a gift card but the order did not process.The customer service is appalling and I have been advised that it will take up to 7 days to resolve the issue when the item is required this weekend. The person I spoke to at customer services was very poor. The live chat was no better. Purchase elsewhere or risk the company taking your money without providing an item.
