I’ve used square for several different jobs and it’s worked great until I have the same customers weekly for lawn care snow every day I make over 1000 my account is shut down other processing companies say the accept all majors payments and mean it square does Tony stand by what they say no better then theives if your o ly taking payments in small amounts you might be alright but if you have a business that’s growing and makes real money square isn’t worth your time your going to have large amounts of money held and all they say is we have the right to do it anytime we want ! You don’t care there hasn’t been a single report from one of my clients about fraud or any complaints so the excuses square has are a joke. Checkout the apps Payment and GoPayment instead of trying square
We have used Square for many years with great success. However, if there is a problem, it is IMPOSSIBLE to speak with a person. They put me into a chat loop that has, so far, taken over 3 hours to reach a conclusion. Their chat seems so antiquated that both parties become frustrated, and although their employees are very polite, each step of the way takes ages to accomplish. For a busy business owner like I am, the time that I have spent with Square Chat has been a total loss of revenue and patience. I can only hope that they were able to finally accomplish what they said they did. Hence only 4 stars for this great company. Consider yourself fortunate if you never need to contact their support team.
My name is Jose Santos, and I have been using Square for several years as a payment processor for my small business. Unfortunately, I’m writing this due to a serious and unacceptable issue with how Square has handled a recent chargeback and how I, as a merchant, have been treated.I completed a job for a customer worth over $550. The customer paid via credit card using Square, and shortly after, they initiated a chargeback. Despite the fact that I fully completed the job and provided my services honestly, Square did not protect me as the merchant.Worse, Square withdrew the funds from my account and claimed it would be taken directly from the same bank account they deposited the original payment into. However, that did not happen. Instead, they kept the funds and now are threatening me to repay them, even though I already did the work and the client received full service.Due to Square's mishandling, my client also suffered—because when I attempted to reprocess the payment, the system wouldn’t allow it. This created confusion and a late payment issue I had to fix manually.I am deeply disappointed in Square’s lack of accountability, transparency, and protection for long-time users like myself. This situation has not only caused me financial loss, but also loss of trust in your platform. If this matter is not resolved properly, I will be exploring legal options, including pursuing this through small claims court and filing formal complaints with the BBB, the CFPB, and potentially seeking out others who have experienced similar mistreatment for a class action.I expect a response and resolution immediately.Sincerely,Jose Santos
I was told that they would only take 10% of my sales after the fees are taken out for a loan. So I agreed and then I started to noticed that this was not true. I noticed that Square would take out the standard fee and then 20% of the original price not the price after the standard fee was taken out. Square should be ashamed of what they are doing by lying to their customers. I am thinking of switching to Clover.
Square is the most horrible platform ever. My account was deactivated for no reason. Having me give back thousand of dollers of deposit after I worked hard and had to pay my worker from my own pocket. It was a horrible lost to my company and their employees lied to me. Telling me to open another account which was deactivated too. I would not trust them with any business at all
What a joke! Spent days getting setup and verified. Tried to run a $1 to see how it works on my own card. Got flagged and then they asked for 7 different documents that were not part of the original application. Submitted all of that and then got an email in the middle of the night stating...."We’re sorry to inform you that we’ve deactivated your account. Based on the information you provided about your business, we’re not able to support your business needs right now. You won’t be able to continue processing payments with Square. Unfortunately, this decision is final."Zero explanation. Totally a waste of time.
