Have been using square for about 6 years, have done two loans with them. There was an error they had taken out to mulch, but now it's ok. We really love how been can list our products , and do a point of sale right from out phone. Then when the customer gets his receipt it shows 6 yards of certified organic mulch or 1 ton of 57 gravel. They do an amazing job.
I’m honestly baffled by how this company operates. Square abruptly closed my account without any explanation, despite my business processing over $25,000 per month with zero disputes, chargebacks, or issues. Their only excuse?"We recently reviewed your account and found activity that our platform is unable to support. Because of this, we are sorry to inform you that your Square account is now deactivated."To make matters worse, they froze my funds and refused to release payments to me or my clients, creating a massive financial and reputational nightmare for my business. I now have to refund over $9,000 in transactions that Square never paid me—but they also won’t refund my clients. What exactly is "unable to support"? A business that runs smoothly, makes money, and pays high transaction fees without any problems? No disputes, no claims, no bad reviews—yet they shut me down without warning. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If you rely on Square for your business, be warned—they can shut you down at any time, with no reason and no recourse, hold your money hostage, and leave you scrambling to fix a mess they created.Stay FAR away.
They nickel and dime you to death by putting certain features behind multiple pay walls so you end up have to pay for all of them. Now they’re raising their rates. They need to invest some of that money into reducing outages. They supposedly offer custom processing rates for business that processes over $300k annually. I’ve been waiting almost a year for a call back from my rep regarding the custom rate. I’m seriously considering switching over to Clover this year.
Talking to others in a boiler room to discuss issues is very problematic. Recently there was an area wide square outage. When this happens we are completely in the dark about where the issue is. I would suggest once a square issue happens put it as first thing on your web page and projected time square will be down.
I really like having a way to use cards at my craft show. But somehow it charges me the fee. I used a linked a friend gave me and it said I wouldn't be charged a fee for the 1st $5000.00 dollars. But that didn't work. Otherwise I love having the conveince of it. Ty. Very easy to use.
I have enjoyed the features of square and Using invoices and the website. I do think the text messaging and text message. Marketing are a bit higher price especially since I don’t send out as many text messages. I keep the feature for when I do pop ups and flash sales
Tried to refund a customer and instead they double charged them first before refunding the first charge. Sent screenshots to customer service and said wait 5 days. They refunded the first charge but the second charge is still there. Lost my customer.
I have been with Square for over a year. I have paid exorbitant processing fees, and have met all criteria for the square loans program, but have not been extended an offer. I will probably be leaving square for lower processing fees through my bank. After a year and processing an average of over $2000 a month I mistakenly thought my business would be valued and appreciated, I guess I was wrong.
