Review Time
After 3 years of loyal service and no disputes, my account was under review and closed within 30 minutes with no warning with over $1,000 in the bank. They are threatening to hold it for 90 days and are refusing to reverse it or tell me why it was closed. I have not done anything against the law. I have always been upfront and honest with my business. All my customers know exactly what they're getting, what they're paying for and again over the course of 3 to 4 years I have not had one dispute. I've had multiple loans opened with square and paid off to current. My account is never otherwise been under review. This is how they treat loyal customers. That's ridiculous and the helpline is no help. They cannot get you to somebody that can reverse that deactivation
Do not signup with Square. They will steal your money. Make a transfer from your personal account and they will put your Square account on hold for no reason. Square call it random, that's a lie. Apply for a savings account and Square will put your account on hold until you verify your account, even though you already have an account with them. Deposits from customers, it'll continue to say pending Deposit for no reason. Square call it fraud alert. It doesn't matter what you do, Square will do anything to keep your money. Your money is not protected, that's why Square do the fraudulent things they do. Do your research, go to tiktok and see for yourself. How would you feel if Square was holding $100,000 of your money that you made legally with your website Weebly! I do not recommend Square.com
Square is good because everything is in one place from sales and inventory to the website, it’s all connected. 4 stars because they charge for every little thing. We want to do a quarterly newsletter but not for $15 a month. It’s kinda crazy it costs so much for an email to be sent. They make so much money off us already from the transaction fees to the website fees.square could instead charge per email not monthly and we would consider using it.Oh and one thing I can see becoming a lawsuit someday.Square takes a fee from the Sales Tax I collect for the state. That shouldn’t be on the businesses to reimburse. It’s a sales tax for the people that live in the state not the business that collects it. Seems like this could be illegal.
SQUARE IS THIEF! CROOKS! GARBAGE CO WITH STUPID RULES! Opened account, took $5K payment on Feb 12. from my legitimate customer in person, for my Vacation Rental property. Verified his ID matching his name.. 5 days later Square deactivated my account with zero explanation as to why. And stole my $5K payment. It’s been over 90 days their crooked hold time and no payment sent to me. Called them but they hung up on me saying I’ll get an email. Not gotten enail. I sent email requests for my funds to be released - no response. SQUARE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUD BY ATTORNEY GENERAL. Their illegal activity is beyond comprehension, allowing to open account and immidiately close once you take payment and steal it for over 3 months when it’s absolutely not their money is FRAUD! They’ll close your account, and steal your money. I’m not selling $5 bag of potatoes. My business is beach gorgeous properties in Miami Beach and staying in them cost few thousands rightfully so. I’m a verified Superhost on multiple platforms, and only needed square for many direct reservations I do, yet deactivate my account for no reason was beyond comprehension. Garbage co with stupid rules! MY RESPONSE TO SQUARE REPLY: They stated my Account was deactivated because of Breach of their Terms. By that they mean they just decided out of the blue they don’t support my business anymore. When I opened account they said they support. BECAUSE I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING WRONG, NOTHING. I’ve been processing my clients transactions & had no disputes. My business is Airbnb/STR nothing illegal about it. THATS WHY FOR 4mo THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT RULE HAVE I BREACHED. It’s a Lie that deactivation email contains any specific info as to why. Their agents were hanging up on me refusing to assist, never got me to manager. They refer everyone to breach of rules which has 100 rules but can’t tell specifically what exact rule I breached. Despite I’ve asked that specialized agent many times. He wouldn’t respond. One CS agent responded I did nothing wrong, just square decided not to accept my type of business. What’s wrong with Airbnb Business? And my $5K payment was held for over 90days & no agent was willing to help till I wrote this review & only than they released it. But if I didn’t, they’d still kept it. That’s why SQUARE IS CROOK, SHADY, SCAM AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY ATTORNEY GENERAL
These people took payments of mine... then said they couldnt verify and then the payments just disappeared and the customers cards were never refunded... these people are frauds... how can you accept a payment if you cant verify me in the first place FRAUDS!! RUN!! use Paypal or anything else
My account suffered multiple strange issues - all modifiers disappeared from my website and items would randomly disappear from the library and website. I spent hours with chat and phone support, each time thinking we got somewhere. I quickly learned that the support agents just lie to you if it is not a simple issue. It got to a point where my case would "randomly" get dropped in the middle of our chat. Update: 4/22/25Thanks for the reply. I don't even know which claim number I would have given you. I was given ~6 of them. Support eventually admitted that it was a syncing and reindexing issue that would need to be handled by advanced support. Then, a new support agent joins the chat and I had to start over. This time I asked them to cancel my account and issue me a refund - that was super simple and quick! I ended up deactivating my account and starting a new one with my items library export. I will likely move to Shopify once I have time to learn their platform.2nd Update: (1 star to 3 star) 4/22/25Followed the advice to reach out to their socials. Received a processing credit.
