I agree, Siteground is fast. Their claim of simple tools is correct - with emphasis on "simple". As a Siteground customer for many years, I can't balance positives against the horribly buggy home-grown tools they are now forcing you to use. (I discovered them deleting important email and records, and when I discussed it with management, they don't care. Would not do anything about it. I doubt most customers realize that Siteground deletes really important records.) Tech support is great when you have a "typical" question, but it can take days to get an answer if you ask something complicated. I suppose the worst part is they force you into their stupid way, or too bad. If you report a bug, they blow it off. It was a good company, years ago, but I had to leave because babysitting Siteground started taking hours each week. At significant expense I moved to greener pastures. Faster web, smarter tools, way less babysitting, and my files don't disappear. Why did I ever stay at Siteground?
Thy NEVER want to fix ANYTHING without paying their "Expert Care Team" at least $60! All these reviews cannot be real cuz support is awful! $60 is their cheapest plan for expert care and you have to pay it to get anything fixed! Sure they have live chat that is quick to answer you but live chat is worthless and all they EVER say is hire the "expert care team" It is the worst hosting I have ever had! If you cannot afford at least $60 every time the smallest issue arises, then don't get your hosting here! oh and some of the expert care services cost TWO credits! and ONE credit is $60! So it will cost even more if it requires two credits! Websites have lots of issues so unless you got money to pay all the time then go somewhere else for hosting!
This service is a complete joke. I waited over 5 hours for a purchase that never went through because they repeatedly botched sending the verification code to my phone'?€”canceling my order at least five times. Their incompetence is staggering; they couldn'?€™t even update my phone number on their own, forcing me to reorder each time and wait an extra 30 minutes per attempt. Absolutely infuriating and unacceptable!
My hosting renewal price has more than doubled in two years (I also had to "negotiate" down to this price from the auto-renewal price 1 month before my renewal otherwise its way more than doubled) with no additional features added for their service they try and charge more and more and more every year, on top of this they are asking for '? ?71 per year, per site, to have each site "protected" and this is their "basic package" for what should be a fundamental service for any hosting company. Spending the next 12 months looking for an alternative. Did I mention Ive been with them since 2016 and Id consider myself a long standing customer of theirs. Support is and always has been great . . . but when do I stop paying for every other promotional introductory offer they use to attract new customers ? as thats what long term customers essentially do . . . get over charged so they can under charge to attract new customers. Enough is enough !
Siteground has gone down the toilet. Literally nothing on the website works. It is complete garbage I'm trying to sign up for a simple wordpress hosting plan, but I cannot do this without registering a domain (this used to be possible).Unfortunately, there is NO customer support. NOTHING!! They have replaced their once very good support with a completely useless AI bot that replies to every single query with "The service is currently unavailable. Please try sending your message again."I hate siteground. I hope they go bankrupt.
