I've been using them for 7 years. The first year is good value. The following years are a rip off.I recently made another account and they said I'd get a year of a domain for free. I checkout. I go to initialise the site with a wordpress isntall. It says I don't have the domain. The checkout page lied to me.The pricing model is ass. Beware because the frist year costs about $150 but when they auto charge you for the next year it will be $800.
Horrible Customer service! They are always sooooo rude! And considering how much more I am paying compared to other competitors and how much little support I have gotten just troubles me! My small business has a few websites, but our main one is on siteground because that is where it has been since we started the company! Our cost has increased every year and nothing has come out of what we are paying! Site is slow and has connection issues often, we called support were told to buy premium support and they cut the call! Then we had a customer complain because the site wasn't loading on his device so we called again and they were so rude I said that's fine let me cancel and don't renew at the time of renewal i would rather trasfer my domain near the end to another company instead! And again cut the call. Now today I saw my website was having word press issues and not showing up at all, and there it said to contact support so i did! BUT support was 0% helpful! They told me that they can't do anything and again to purchase support and the tone was soooo rude and demorelizing! Will not use them again!
I sent a note trying to get answers on what SiteGround included in a hosting plan. I also had three other companies I was considering. The agent answered all my questions about SiteGround and cleared up the questions I had about the other hosting options. He was honest to admit when he didn't know something about one of the other companies, but was willing to go to their site and check on things for me.
The chat support tried to be helpful, but there was no solution to my problem (domain not yet pointed at client's account) and the only solutions available were absurd (work on localhost -- is it 1996? -- or talk my client through setting up a temporary URL and then later changing it (!!)The problem is SiteGround not providing a default temporary URL for every site. Most hosts supply something like hosturl/~client
