Unwanted subscription

I have no issue with the product. However it??s been over a year since I ordered and out of curiosity I opened an email from them a few days ago. I looked at a few of the recipes then decided not to bother ordering. Thus I was very surprised when a box of Gousto ingredients shows up in my building today, not even delivered to my flat so I didn??t know it was there until hours later. I opened it to find food that I can??t even eat, I??m vegan so would have never ordered this box.Be very careful with this company as just looking at at a few choices means you have started a subscription. Fortunately for me they had tried to take the funds from a credit card that I no longer have. I contacted their customer service and was told that I had started a subscription, yet I??ve had no confirmation of any order or subscription. I tried to return the box but they don??t take returns. I have given the box to a neighbour who is very happy with it. So despite everything there is some positivity.EDITI??ve read the Gusto response. I won??t be calling to discuss anything with you. I??m afraid that if I respond I will be starting another unsolicited subscription. I??m probably not the first person who has been caught out like this. Your website should show some kind of alert that once you start looking at recipes you have started an automatic subscription. The fact that you didn??t even had a single selection from me should have made it obvious that I had just abandoned the site without choosing. Even supermarkets notify you when you have started a trolley to ask if you want to continue with the order. They don??t just take a payment from your CC and send it out without you even knowing. There should be some alert that you had chosen recipes for me rather than just shipping them out without even an acknowledgment from me that I wanted any of them.

Do NOT have your order for delivery on a Monday....EVERY Bank Holiday Monday is a nondelivery day even though couriers routinely deliver on any day even on easter Sunday this year...amazingly! and that means every BH week we are lucky to get our box on a Tuesday evening, and usually it doesnt arrive at all...where does it go...misdelivery or stolen? Who knows...Gousto dont. How about they prioritise BH Monday deliveries FIRST on a Tuesday. Useless if youve done your weeks shopping on the basis youll have most meals delivered. IF it arrives we have no issues with quality or recipes and good that portion sizes are sensible we all eat too much anyway and decent.

Disgraceful

Disgraceful they carry on charging you after you end your subscription, then say you should have read the small point that says you can??t just cancel, you have to empty the basket for every week.

When is a customer a Customer?

My daughter recently started to use Gousto and was so pleased with them recommended that I try their meals. She duly sent me a discount code, which I tried to use. I tried this, to find that because I had registered my email account previously I could not process the order. I rang to query this as I had merely only registered my email account but HAD NEVER PLACED AN ORDER thus I was not a customer as no pur have was ever made definition of customer!I was told I could not use the discount code sent by my daughter as I was,a customer. I explained no order or purchase was ever made so zi was not an existing customer. I explained that this was ludicrous and could not understand the logic behind this.I was told they could reinstate my email address and I could place an order but I could not use the discount code sent by my daughter.In a world where business is crucial Gousto in my opinion deserve no new customers ie people who have never ordered and purchased from them with such a contradictory policy.Very disappointed at their attitude and inflexibility and quite honestly have great difficulty in making sense of their reasoning.Best avoided I guess and I will take my business elsewhere.

Disgusting Customer Experience

First time customer box not delivered.Contact support 8491591, advised me they told the delivery company to dispose of my box without informing me leaving me with no food arranged for this week for a family of four.Refunded me, fine, gave me 65 off next box which is what I got as a new customer so technically no compensation. Then agreed 80 when I complained.Told me to order a one off box which I attempted to do, next delivery slot is Thursday. So now three days without meals arranged and it cost 30 for 2 days of meals to sync with next weeks delivery.Absolutely appalling experience as a new customer, completely ridiculous and now have to buy three days worth of food for 4 on top.Thanks a lot guys.

My husband and I were bored of the same

My husband and I were bored of the same meals every week and also spending more than we should have been on food. He tends to be quite fussy with food but we have tried things I never even knew existed. Each meal is easy to prepare and having all the ingredients you need means that there is no waste. Clean plates after every meal. We have had 3 boxes so far and have been impressed. Nothing missing, good dates and fresh food. The only thing that annoys me is that we live on a main road and despite DPD coming through 2 closed gates, they leave both open which is dangerous for my furbabies!! I did shout out the window at him but he ignored me!!

Couldn't even start

Abyssmal service from their customer service team. I havent even been able to start and at this point dont want to. Had an issue with the site telling me the email I used was already opened, despite me creating a new one purely for using Gousto. Tried to call in to be told theres nothing they can do so tried to so sent a contact form only to be cut off and told Oops this email is no longer in use. Dont even bother trying with this company. And no Im not going to raise this with you contact centre, I tried that Ref 8522649 and got nowhere

Unfortunately the quality of the produce in this order wasnt as good as previous.Vegetables perishing within 23 days of receiving....so had to go and purchase additionalreplacements from local supermarket in order to complete our dishes before the end of the week.

Dreadful customer support

It was an ok service until there was a technical issue with the website and I had to contact customer support. I had very poor support with their agent who told me that I couldn??t select the next few weeks deliveries because of Easter and implied that I would have to accept the random choices he added to my account. Despite spending 45 minutes on live chat most of which was waiting for the agent to very slowly type out a nonanswer, none of my questions were answered and I??ve now cancelled my subscription rather than risk paying for meals I don??t want.Gousto really need to improve their live chat services and ensure that their agents aren??t losing them customers!Having looked at the other reviews, I??m waiting for a copy and paste response to my review about poor customer service telling me to contact their customer support it??ll be very telling if they don??t even read my review

After much thinking about changing our weekly same old same old eating routine we took the plunge to mix it up a bit with Gausto !!! OMG what a big mistake.... the portions are so small it is laughable... OK if your a chunky monkey and wanna lose a stone or two but I do believe this week eating this pathetic package we will all lose a few pounds.I Shant be rushing back ....

The apples were bruised and soft. The tomatoes were wrinkly and obviously not fresh. The bagged herbs and rocket had been squashed, beaten by the heavier produce potatoes that were on top of it during transit.

I forgot to order in time and was sent 5 meals. They all contain rice. 3 are curries and 3 are really spicy. While we enjoy really spicy curries it would have been nice to be sent a wider variety of dishes.

Changed the delivery date and now I can

I tried to place an order for the end of April and even picked recipes from this specific menu, only to then go through checkout and find that it has now set my delivery date to tomorrow and completely changed the recipes. When I looked into getting a refund as this would lead to a lot of wastage I was then met with the tcs page telling me that I could not get a refund as this was not cancelled up to three days before, which obviously now would not apply thanks to guosto changing the delivery date. This is an absolute scam and trap and will never be ordering from the company, disgusting.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. Over an hour talking to customer services who refused to refund my money taken for a box I have not ordered nor have had an emails about. Seems like a complete scam and not bothered about UK consumer law. Agent said they can??t refund for anything more than 40. Terrible and illegal. Basically got called a lier and told that I can??t do anything about them taking my money!

Good food but appauling customer service

This product is a great concept great food at a decent price and reducing food waste.The reason I havent continued my journey with Gousto though is one of the most frustrating and terrible customer experiences Ive ever had with a company.To give some context, our Gousto delivery had been delivered without notification from the delivery courier so it was left on our doorstep for a long period of time, resulting in meat and dairy that was left in the hot sun. We didnt feel comfortable about that so we contacted Gousto via their live chat and long story short is that I was going round in circles with this customer service agent it felt like they were just responding with a script and not actually helping solve and understand my issue. They also ended up just not responding at one point which I found incredibly rude and unhelpful.I then got in touch again and was greeted with another customer service agent who did help solve my issue with a partial refund but my experience was so terrible Ive decided to cancel my subscription.Gousto if you do end up reading this, please look into your customer service team experience.

Shocking!

Shocking , I had ordered a box for 2 people that was gluten free the week before , that was great. The following week I was showing my son the website as he was interested in ordering a box himself , we clicked on a few recipes to look what was on offer .Later that day I had a notification that Gusto had taken money from my account for an order for 4 people not gf. I rang customer services who where shocking , they did after a showdown offer me a refund . To scared to go in the site again until I was ready to place an order I was shocked as again the next day Gusto took money from my account ! I called again thier response was that they had picked an order for me , that was not ideal but ok, only they had re ordered that same order I had cancelled . My default order was for 2 people gluten free, not 4 people with gluten . I am awaiting my refund have cancelled my account. Customer services was not understanding need more training , as I feel they have no understanding of what gluten free is
