I used to be a loyal regular customer of Gousto and recommended them to friends and coworkers. I liked the great variety of recipes, great portion sizes and trying so many different cuisines. It made me enjoy cooking. However, I took about a year off using their boxes as I went travelling. I recently started them up again and upon receiving the first box was very disappointed to notice the haddock, although fished in European seas was packaged thousands of miles away in China, only to be shipped back to Europe! This is terrible for the environment from a supposed BCorp business who claim to have sustainable practices. I would also like them to implement the ability to select ??free range chicken?? on all of their chicken recipes. The last box I looked at ordering, there weren??t any free range options at all and it was at that point I decided to cancel my subscription and I won??t return until they have better quality and sources for their meat and fish. Also I noticed the dates on refrigerated items are a lot shorter than they used to be in 2023 and the veg doesn??t last as long. This has all been very disappointing as I used to love cooking with Gousto!

Ok so I firstly left a bad review because the veg especially the carrots were never fresh enough to last the five days,However I??ve since tried other suppliers and let me tell you I shall be crawling back to Gusto with my tail between my legs, the options and ease of gusto was very much taken for granted by myself, after trying others I now realise that Gusto is the daddy of dinners and the quality of meat far excels other suppliers. It was very clear early doors that Gusto have a quality product and go further for the customer than others for example ??Mainly quality can??t say that enough? but little things like the buns already cut the packets you need to open having a little tag for ease of opening, where as others you have to go hunting for the scissors, condiments like tomato ketchup again provided by Gusto but not by other suppliers. To sum up gusto spend more money on quality and the small touches than any other supplier and their customer is their priority.

I have been using Gousto for around 2 years. We have always ordered a weekly box every Sunday for 5 meals for 2 people. The quality was always good and the food was fresh and tasty. Over the past 2 months we have had some issues. One of our deliveries didn??t turn up and another one arrived with a carrot and a small pot of soft cheese and a bag of seasoning which had quite a few missing. When we contacted customer service they gave us a 60 refund. Bear in mind this box was about 54 and I know prices have gone up in supermarkets but a carrot and soft cheese and a bit of seasoning cannot make any meals.Gousto splits the boxes into two sections, one with ice packs in and the other without. Our last box arrived with the ice packs in but the pork that came with the order was not with the ice and having had food poisoning before I threw it away as I didn??t want to take chances with getting poorly from it being stored incorrectly. In general my husband and myself have found some of the quality has gone downhill. This evening the chicken we have used had a woody texture and, whilst this is only a little thing the condiments such as mayo used to come in little helmans sachets and now they come in Gousto sachets which makes me wonder if they are using cheaper ingredients despite the prices going up. I will say that the customer service at gousto is good. They are easy to contact and will offer money back for issues. However having had around 20 months with a rare occasion of a missing item to it being almost a weeklyfortnightly issue we are going to stop our subscription with gousto. For anybody that is considering giving them a try it??s worth a go just to see ans maybe the problem is in our particular area. If there are any problems use the app to contact customer service they are always friendly and helpful. Just be wary about the quality of the food and the number of missing items.

One meal out of everything we had was actually very good. Mostly the vegetables were out of date by the look of them, floppy chives, stale ginger and limes so dry and hard there was barely any juice. Chicken thighs were tough, chopped thighs were dubious to say the least. Not for us. I would never sign up with Gousto again.18 APR update Gousto customer service contacted me and asked for more details. After explaining in detail I received a refund of my initial payment, which was not expected but appreciated. Cant fault the after service so upped the stars to three.

Gousto Food Delivery Boxes has shocked me. Today fish was delivered that is dated 8 April 2023. Yes April 2023! Haddock caught in the Norwegian Sea and shipped to China for packaging doesn??t sound like the most environmentally friendly company either? in April 2023. Over two years old.Gousto Customer services are now saying the fish is fine as it was actually packed in August 2023. Today is May 2025! Even if it were I still don??t want it. But then that calls into question can you believe their labels or the brand? Is Norwegian Sea to China and back to the Uk truly lowering my Carbon footprint.

We really loved the Gousto boxes. The last time we used them was in December 2024. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the last box as my mother fell seriously ill and we had to travel to see her. Since then we have received NO special offers or discounts from Gousto which is a real shame as we loved their menu boxes. We frequently receive special offers from Hello Fresh, Greenchef and Mindfulchef. But nothing from Gousto !

Had the box for 2 weeks, 5 miles for 3 people. Missingpoor ingredients and food that was just ??ok led me to cancel my subscription on the 10th. Today 14th I??ve been charged for my subscription. I??ve gotten in touch to be told I??ve only deactivated my account not cancelled it. When I supplied a screen shot clearly stating my subscription was active, I was told that I had to cancel the box ordered as well as the subscription. This wasn??t mentioned when I told them I was cancelling on the 10th! Wow just wow!

Do not buy this utter nonsense. It won??t change the way you eat food, it just lines someone??s pockets. Massively overpriced, low quality ??food? that goes out of two days after delivery if you??re lucky, giving you no chance to eat any of it. Waste of time and hard earned money. You do not need this product at all I will explain why, below? FreshThe supermarket sells all of these items FRESH. The gousto items are grabbed, manhandled and catapulted into a box, left to sit and swelter in a van for a day or two and then transported by a courier who has no regard for the fragility of the contents.Meanwhile, the supermarket offers larger, fresher portions and for a fraction of the price too and what you end up with is fruit and vegetables that are bruise free and meat that isn??t rotting. Furthermore, for example, if you order 5 recipes from them, you??d expect that you can make one a day for the following 5 days after delivery, right? WRONG. 3 of the recipes will expire in the first 2 days and the other 2 will expire the day after. Usually it??s the meat that goes first. Therefore rendering a 5 recipe option redundant. Who has time to work and then cook 3 recipes in one day? Nobody that??s who.Learning to cook eating healthyYou wont learn a thing you don??t already know. It??s made for idiots. The recipes are mostly useless without the many little sauces and various shifty looking ingredient sachets. Therefore making it obstructive to repeat them with your own ingredients. This also means they??re full of preservatives, salt, fat and sugar and therefore takes away from the ??healthy?? aspect. Expect many Enumbers. Athletes do not eat gousto.Easy and stress freeGousto is neither. Some recipes are too simple meaning it??s just boiled potatoes and vegetables. Some are unnecessary complicated, doing extra tasks and adding filler ingredients to fill out the recipe card. Theyre constantly hounding you to pick new recipes. Constantly badgering you to ??choose? from the poor quality recipe pile that ??changes? cheeseburgers one day might become cheeseburgers with relish the next? a different recipe in their eyes. If you??re a busy person this is just a mindless chore and they don??t save your progress. If you pick 4 recipes but it??s set to deliver 5 it will not save the 4 you chose and instead send you 5 random ones that they claim are tailored to your taste. They aren??t, it??s likely old stock that??s going off if they can??t pawn it on you.TasteThe only time they taste good is when you??re trying to convince yourself in the mirror that you made a good investment choice and that you??ve not just wasted 75 on three portions of pork mince. The recipes are mediocre at best. Guys, you are far better off googling easy recipe ideas and just buying the stuff from your favourite supermarket. The ones that taste nice are the ones that they??ve added their pre made sauces to likely to have sugar listed 4 separate times on the ingredients label. PriceThere??s nothing cheap about this. It??s expensive. It??s for morons. A wealthy person does not purchase gousto. An intelligent person does not purchase gousto. Once you??ve used the money off deals that entice you in, it becomes insanely expensive. They??ve found a genius way to sell you 11 potatoes, 2 tomatoes and 6 chicken breasts for 75. The sooner this place goes out of business, the better. Reducing food waste sustainabilityShipping big boxes with giant ice cubes in thick plastic bags all over the country all the time is not sustainable. Putting different ingredients for one meal into 15 plastic sachets is not sustainable. If you order a portion size that is an odd number serves 3 then you get twice as many little packets and some serve 2 and the rest serve the extra 1. A very tight money saving scheme that does not benefit the planet one bit. This business was created to earn money for the owners, not to save the earth. By telling you that you??re ??reducing food waste? what they really mean is they??ve shortchanged you and given you 3 spring onions for the price of 30. Had you visited the supermarket you could have bought your own for much cheaper, without the plastic and made more portions for extra days and therefore reduced food waste even further. Can you tell I don??t like this place? LolI could continue but I am running out of characters. If you still think this mindless drivel is worth it then please knock your socks off? I will be enjoying my truly healthy homemade recipes for the whole family and keeping the rest of my money to go skiing in Switzerland and sunbathing in the Canary Islands. Because two weeks without gousto can pay for both.

I think gousto is excellent. I save so much on my shopping bill because I now no longer go shopping and waste money on things I dont need. Because the whole family are out at work during the day we only really need food for dinners in the house as everyone else buys their lunches. I was spending 100 on a weeks shopping and I now spend 60 on a gousto box that does 4 of us for 5 days. At the weekend we eat out or get a take away. Delivery is always spot on, well packed, well packaged, never had an ingredient missing. The meals are tasty and quick and they freeze really well if Im on nights! Cannot praise them enough. Ive been using them over 6 months now and its brilliant.

I had a great experience up until trying to stop my subscription, I stopped it on the app in plenty of time but they still took the money for a further box, I have then spent 2 days emailing because the help section says they don??t have staff to answer live chat or calls getting absolutely nowhere and just being fobbed off with the money still pending coming out of my account. My last email hasn??t even had a reply has completed put me off ever using them again

Was told multiple times via the app chat today that my order was on its way and the courier hadnt updated the status. Hits 7pm, no delivery. Called customer service, was told that they have had loads of customers not receive their boxes today because of an issue at the processing factory! Then why didnt your reps say that during the day and allow me to leave the house to purchase food for this evening. No, they told to wait in to take delivery,it will definitely be here before 7pm. Bunch of liars!

We have been customers for several years. For most of that time we were very happy with the service. Indeed we were big advocates and influenced several friends family to subscribe. Things have changed. The rot started when they began charging 4 for previously free delivery an increase of some 7 in one jump. Over the last year or more both the quality and quantity have reduced. Only a few years ago we were paying under 200 per month for top notch meals. Now we find ourselves paying 300 for an inferior service. In particular, the main ingredients have reduced and the quality is now poor. We regularly have to buy more of the main ingredients to supplement and provide sufficient food. To make it worse, meat is sometimes so tough that we are unable to eat half of it.There are problems most weeks with missing ingredients. We pay 300 and still have to go shopping to get an adequate meal either because something is missing or because there just isnt enough. On top of all this some of the ingredients arent fresh. Especially by the end of the week we often have to throw stuff away.

I really wish I had read all the reviews on here before starting with gousto. Firstly the food is really poor quality, especially the meats, the sausage meat was completely inedible! The plastic packaging is an absolute joke, why wrap potatos and sweet potatoes in plastic! Were trying our best to reduce plastic waste and gusto are using more for no good reason. Then we get on to the app and the useless customer service. I was thinking about cancelling all together so I reduced my subscription for my next box to 2 persons and skipped my meals for the next 4 weeks. Guess what I get a payment taken by gusto for 3 person meals for a week when last weeks was for 2 person. Customer service tells me its now too late to cancel and they cant do anything about. Apparently I skipped the 4 weeks in April, you can only see 4 weeks of deliverys so they are lying about it. And how did it miraculously go back up to 3 person. I would avoid gusto at all cost.

I decided to give this service a try using a referral code from a friend, as they offered a discounted trial. I was curious to see if it could be a good alternative to HelloFresh. Unfortunately, my experience wasn??t great. The box never arrived, and when I contacted customer service, they only told me that it was damaged by DHL during delivery. It??s disappointing, especially since it was a trial box. Since it never arrived, I won??t be trying it any further and will stick with HelloFresh.

We only signed up for 70 off first box after being referred by a friend. Was easy to cancel after. Meal ingredients arrived and appear to be to a high standard. Although they have made conciderable efforts to reduce plastic, there was still quite a lot of plastic. Meals couldve had an extra veg or two in as well, but I was pleasently suprised at how enjoyable the process was. I would strongly concider going back for a one off box, especially if I was away on holiday.
