FRAUDLENT COMPANY - AVOID!

In January 2025 I had money taken from my account despite not placing an order with Gousto. After extensive back and forth with their utterly useless customer service they fluctuated from stating they could not issue a refund to issuing a partial one to claiming they didnt have a refund button they could press. I escalated this further and 3rd February 2025 was told I would be issued a full refund in 35 working days. This never came. Another round with customer services and they claimed I had to contact my bank. I did this and no surprise my bank stated there were no pending refunds from Gousto no surprise there. 21st February and back on with customer services who again stated they would issue a refund within 35 working days. This has once again not been received. This company is fraudulent and I would advise anyone to avoid. I can only assume their policy is to claim they are processing a refund which is never done in the hope that you as the customer eventually forget about the money owed. The whole situation is disgraceful, time consuming and frankly unethical. I have raised with Trading Standards and seeking further advice from Citizens Advice as I refuse to not receive the money back I am a owed and b repeatedly been promised and yes, I have all these promises of refunds in writing!

Appalling nondelivery

I have been with gousto for over a year for a monday delivery for five days of recipes. Gousto asked for me to change to Tuesday deliveries with an incentive of 6. I agreed to this request and for three weeks I have not received a delivery. One box was delivered to my lane gate instead of the house. The next delivery I was told had been left in my porch. I do not have a porch. The latest delivery never happened. I was told a supervisor would ring to explain.I am still waiting.

Very poor value

Been a customer for over 3 years, cancelled today as its become incredibly poor value for money. The price continues to increase, but the ingredients provided get stingier. A salad often consists of just rocket, and there are too many recipes which are overall lacking I find myself having to add basics like an onion or a carrot far too frequently. The range of recipes is decent and theres a wide selection of vegetarian options. Ingredients are usually good quality and the recipe cards are easy to follow.Customer service are quick to address any issues, and the process of claiming for damaged or missing items is simple. Subscription is flexible and changing or skipping a box is straightforward.

Meal for one ideal.

I??ve just become a widow and need to eat properly. It??s hard shopping for one in the supermarket so Gousto for one is ideal. It makes me cook and I have nourishing and interesting meals. The only criticism I have is I can??t eat spinach or kale as I??m on blood thinners so I would like a substitute veg.

Fourth time the delivery has been laterSupposed to be here by 7pm, arrived well past 10.Second time I have been given the excuse that the van has broken down.Get either, better excuses or invest in better vans.

Unacceptable Gousto! Emailed to say not delivering today at 4 pm.

At 4 pm for a delivery for the family gousto have said they cannot delivery our food and will deliver it tomorrow instead. Why do these companies not understand that this is simply not good enough. They will hold the food at their premises. So nothing for tea this evening for the family and food that is out of date and not needed on the Thursday. Offered a 5 voucher. Sorry not acceptable Gousto!

Will steal your money!!!

I cancelled my subscription via the online chat. This was because my 2nd ever box didn??t turn up, and when it doesn??t turn up, they can??t do anything about it, not a new one the following day, nothing. However, this is not the reason I??m leaving a review. I spoke to Gousto on their online chat, whereby it was specifically confirmed in writing to me that I would not receive any further boxes following my cancellation.However since then, I noticed a payment had left my bank for Gousto. So I got online again and explained, the customer service just said it was too late as ingredients were already being prepped it??s Friday today, for Monday delivery. So I sent a screenshot of my conversation with their colleague whereby she literally confirmed I wouldn??t receive any further boxes. The employee continued to tell me it was upto me to cancel the boxes manually. Clearly, this doesn??t make sense, I literally told her colleague and she confirmed I wouldn??t receive any further boxes. I??ve been polite throughout with Gousto but this is quite literally the worst customer service I??ve experienced for a very very long time?. It??s been 3 hours since I last had a reply from them. I thought I??d try one last time before writing this review and still nothing.If this matter is not resolved by the end of next week, I??ll be taking it further!!! You can??t just steal money off people!!!

Poor customer service

I have used gousto for a number of years now. The meals are very good and I have rarely had a problem with the delivery, however this has now changed. Our box didnt arrive yesterday, and the tracking details said to contact gousto. I was at work all day and didnt have a chance, luckily I had made spare meals in the fridge. No one contacted to explain there was an issue. I left a message and emails and no one got back to me. Ive eventually had time to call them, all that was offered was a refund and 30 off my next box. I dont believe this was acceptable for the inconvenience caused. I order gousto the days prior to my work, as I dont have time to go to the shops when I am working. If I had been made aware there was an issue this would have ensured I have time to shop for my family. Very disappointed in gousto, I would have expected a new box delivered for free.

Double cream had bad taste

So far I am enjoying Gousto but there??s season and portions are definitely not correct. Sometimes I don??t give you the right amount of seasoning which can make the food taste very bland especially when it comes to curry. Also another thing that is quite irritating every time they??ve sent me out, double cream it has had almost like an out of date taste They definitely need to doublecheck their double cream before giving it out to people or maybe think about putting it in pots instead of packets

Good, but it depends on your diet

It is an excellent service with great food delivered to your door, but due to the nature of the recipes, I ended up not getting enough nutrition. I eventually stopped my subscription and switched to mealprepping by myself on a controlled diet. But if anyone wants to avoid having to food shop for lots of vegetables and reduce waste, Gousto does it pretty well at a good price.

Customer Service is extremely poor!

I have been using them for 6 weeks now so feel it has been long enough to make a educated review.1 The food itself is ok, fresh veg doesnt stay fresh for long enough at all though, infact tomatoes have mainly been received squidgy! It seems like fish is the main options to choose from! Some meals have been very bland and tasteless!2 There have been issues EVERY week, changing the box for the number of people or day on the app or on call doesnt always work. I ended up with boxes not being changed like they promised several boxes turning up in a few days, and then having to fight tooth and nail to get my money back! They thought it was acceptable to offer a discount on a box they wrongly delivered and then it took an hours phone call for them to realise that was wrong and that the customer should NOT pay for their mistakes! Even the girl at the call centre seemed flabbergasted by the stupidity of management!3 They say they will refund you but then you have to call back a few times for them to actually action it properly.4 The online chat function is useless they stop responding completely and ignore you so you end up phoning and then being put on hold!5 It isnt as stress free as you think! With the constant issues weekly and the wrong size boxes being delivered its been more hassle as Ive had to go and get additional ingredients.6 The customer service is awful, over all! Whether you phone or use the online chat function or email they dont seem to care enough. If you ask to speak to a manager they tell you someone will get back to you. They dont! The call centre is clearly elsewhere so often isnt east to understand themor be understood. Be prepared to go round and round in circles!!The concept is great but it is a let down and I personally wouldnt recommend it!

No honouring of 25% discount

I skipped my upcoming delivery on the app and as I clicked skip, it popped up with get 25 discount if you unskip. So i clicked on this link to unskip and ordered. On checking my bank, I was charged the full amount. I contacted Gousto through the online chat and they said unless I had a screenshot as proof they would not be able to honour this. Disgraceful service. Has anybody else had this issue

Box to wrong address and dpd no help at all. Have had misdelivery a few weeks ago too but found that after walking the area! Not great Gousto and we like the food too but not confident now that it will actually arrive.

Allergies

Because I didnt choose them, lots of gluten items and Im coeliac. So will have to find substitutes to complete meals. I thought meals would be tailored more to my needs. Remember to choose your meals to avoid this issue.UPDATE gousto have been in touch and provided a partial refund, and explained that gf isnt an option they can select by when supplying their own selections. Now I know this Ill make sure always to select all meals.

Failed Delivery AGAIN

Gusto offer excellent meal options but 2 failed deliveries in 2 weeks is unacceptable. They blame IT issues. I have received credit and refund but this does not offset the trauma of having to go out shopping and planning meals for a 5 person family in just 24 hours when working 40 hours. 1 week we can accept but TWICE in 3 deliveries is disgusting. We switched from Hello fresh and have NEVER in 3 years had a delivery cancelled. What is the point of having excellent quality meals when you cannot do the fundamental part of delivery. We will cancel once we have completed the offer discounts.
