I visited the Balham store to book in a repair of my bike. They said the engineer had been on holiday so couldn't repair until 20th September. Firstly that seems an insane wait time for a company as big as Halfords. The gentleman there suggested I try New Malden instead as they had 2 engineers. I contacted their shop, but was rerouted to a central customer service team, this is where the real issue begins. They booked in an assessment for 2 days for 2pm. I asked them several times if it was ok to drop my bike down earlier on that day as I had to go to work. When I arrived at New Malden, soaking wet from the rain the guy said I couldn't keep my bike there. There are a few issues here, first the central phoneline clearly is not trained and gave me false advice. Secondly the gentleman in New Malden was so rude and clearly was reveling in the fact I was given wrong information. Giving me an analogy like "you wouldn't turn up for a doctors appointment early", not really sure what his angle was.I then just dropped my bike at an independent shop. I left it there, they said they'd look at it before giving me a ring to see if I agreed with the parts and costs. Staggering how Halfords doesn't just follow this policy. They aren't a bike shop and clearly don't have the right resources or care for it.
