Several years ago my wife paid for Brakes For Life and it cost around ?500 at the time but they replaced pads and discs. I have never had to get new pads on subsequent vehicles until recently.I booked the car in at National Tyres and they said they can't change the pads as the discs need changing as well so they gave me a price. They wanted ?1742.57. They told me that they got all their parts from Eurocarparts.I called the customer services and they basically said they can't do anything about pricing as that's down to the garage. They were not very helpful.I have priced up all the parts required (except replacement sensors) and I can get them for ?498.84.That means they wanted to charge ?1243.73 for fitting. My go to mechanic will fit them for ?200.00How is that price justifiable? In hindsight I think the Brakes For Life was mis-sold to my wife and personally it will be highly unlikely that i'll be going back to Halfords or any of their other outlets for brakes.
