Model: Apollo City 2024The scooter itself is phenomenal'???truly a beast. It's powerful, fast (honestly faster than I even dare to go), and the regen brake is so effective that I haven'???t even needed to touch the drum brakes yet. The range is solid, and the included charger takes the battery from 0 to 100% in around 7'???8 hours, which is perfectly acceptable for daily commutes. That said, I'???m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 due to a few issues'???none of them deal-breakers, but all fixable:1. Kickstand stabilityThe kickstand is too tall and mounted only on the left side. It keeps the scooter almost perfectly vertical, which makes it extremely unstable'???just a light breeze and it can tip over. A center kickstand (the kind that lifts the front wheel) or simply shortening the current one would solve the problem. Until then, don'???t trust the kickstand alone'???lean your scooter against something for safety.2. The app'???s navigation feature is broken (on Android)The app has a lot of promise, with features like customization for top speeds, braking, and acceleration modes, and showing current speed and battery level'???all great. But the navigation feature is extremely frustrating. It won'???t save my Home or Work addresses no matter how many times I try, and searching for a destination often doesn'???t work'???tapping on a result does nothing. The only workaround is to manually find the location on the map and tap on it, which defeats the purpose. You'???re better off using Google Maps.3. Headlight is too weakThe headlight (or front light) is just not bright enough for safe night use. At this price point, I expected something more functional. As it stands, it's only usable in well-lit areas'???definitely not for darker paths or unlit roads.4. Turn indicator placementThe turn signals are split'???left on the left handlebar, right on the right. This forces you to remove your thumb from the accelerator to signal a right turn. Both indicators should be on the left handlebar for easier, safer use. It's a small change that would make a big difference in day-to-day comfort.Overall:Despite these issues, the Apollo City 2024 is a fantastic scooter. It's fast, powerful, has great braking and range, and feels incredibly well built. With a few tweaks'???especially to the kickstand, app, and lights'???it would be perfect. Highly recommended, but I do hope Apollo listens to feedback and makes some of these fixes in future updates.
