Review of Tecflock
I was recently targeted by a well-organized phishing scam that spoofed a Norton invoice notification. The attacker, who pretended to be Norton security helping me, created a situation where I was persuaded to use WhatsApp with him and to open a personal tecflock account. Fortunately, the attacker made several serious errors that persuaded me and people helping me that HE was the attacker. I never completed the account creation step. During this process, we were finally able to reach tecflock and the "escalation" team and defeat the attack. Conclusions: (1) tecflock is impenetrable to those who have not completed the account creation process, which is extremely thorough (2) The escalation process is highly competent and efficient and run by folk who are patient and sympathetic. My funds were safely back in my bank, overnight. (3) They were happy to offer important information to the Federal authorities, whom we had contacted. For me, tecflock has been a secure bastion, has highly competent and sympathetic experts, responded immediately to my situation and was a key partner in defeating an attack that would, otherwise, have created severe financial damage to me, an 80-yearold retiree.
